Lesser Arts is a cottage-industry brewery and surrounding homestead project located outside of Sutter Creek in the Sierra Nevada foothills of California.

The project entire is an assemblage of human influence and natural processes.

Select, whole, non-synthetic ingredients from regional sources with minimal processing. No imported barley or hops. No extracts, no concentrates, no industrial shortcuts.

House-propagated & wild-captured microbes. Site-specific spring & well water. Learned & improvised cellar techniques. Ambient & open wort chilling. Barrel conditioning. Carbonation in package. Organic waste composting.

Each Lesser Arts beer is singular — balancing available ingredients, seasonal variability and natural fermentation.

Lesser Arts beers are available at regional farmers markets, select bottle shops, fine dining establishments, and through our online store for local pickups. We do not currently offer public tours. Please subscribe to the Lesser Arts Journal for updates and more information.

Our community includes people interested in rural artistry, regenerative agriculture, craft fermentation, homesteading, and ecological land management. We also like riding bikes.

We welcome inquiries for private events, pop-ups, and collaborations.
